Real Estate Agent License Ontario-Are you Eligible?

In a nutshell, here is what you will need to be eligible to apply for real estate license in Ontario Canada:

Are you at least 18 years of age with a permanent resident of Canada and havea High School Certificate or equivalent?

If you answered yes to that question then…

A)  You will have to complete Courses 1, 2, and 3 within 18 months and pass all exams

B)  Obtain and pay for a mandatory Police Check on yourself (for RECO)

C)  Register your real estate agent license with an Ontario real estate Brokerage Firm ASAP of before 12 months from your successful completion of your educational OREA Courses

D)  Apply to RECO aka Real Estate Council of Ontario-this is done through the Brokerage

E)  You will obtain your 2 year Provisional real estate agent Ontario License

F)  Complete 3 Articling Courses within 2 years of your Provisional real estate agent Ontario License

G)  Apply to RECO again to register and obtain your Permanent Real Estate Agent License Ontario

H)  To maintain your new Permanent Real Estate Agent License Ontario you will complete your continuing Education which entails 24 credits (equal to 24 hours in most cases) per 2 years which is the renewal time for your RECO Registration.
